Could the next mayor of New York City be a former rapper? Zohran Mamdani, a 33-year-old Democratic Socialist who is leading in the polls, once had bars.
Mamdani was once known as Young Cardamom and Mr. Cardamom. Providing further context, actress Madhur Jaffrey told The New York Times that Mamdani started rapping in the late 2000s while running for school elections.
